Daniel Hernandez (8 May 1996-), known professionally as Tekashi 6ix9ine, was an American rapper and criminal from New York City. Born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, he sold cannabis and heroin on the streets while working at a bodega. He was later imprisoned on Rikers Island, where he joined the Nine Trey Gangsters set of the Bloods, and he began his rap career in 2014. He first rose to fame with his debut single "Gummo" in 2017, and he released his debut album, Dummy Boy, in 2018. In 2018, he was arrested on racketeering, weapons, and drug charges, and, on 18 December 2019, he was sentenced to 2 years in prison after cooperating with a government investigation into the Nine Trey Gangsters. That same year, he also announced his support for Donald Trump.
