The 5th North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from July 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. Organized in Cumberland, Gates, Johnston, Graven, Rowan, Bertie, Wilson, and Caswell counties, the regiment fought with the Army of Northern Virginia from the Battle of Williamsburg to the Battle of Cold Harbor, participated in the Valley Campaigns of 1864, and surrendered at Appomattox.
