55 Wall Street, formerly the National City Bank Building, is an eight-story building on Wall Street in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan, New York City. The building was erected in 1841-1842 as the Merchants' Exchange, replacing a structure that had burned down in the Great Fire of 1935, but the original fourth story was removed from 1907 to 1910 and five more floors added. In 2006, the former Merchants' Exchange became home to an event venue called Cipriani Wall Street, while its upper stories were transformed into a condominium development by Steve Witkoff.
