The 4th United States Colored Infantry Regiment was an African-American Union Army regiment which was active from 15 July 1863 to 4 May 1866 during the American Civil War. The regiment was organized at Baltimore, Maryland, and it participated in the Overland Campaign, the Siege of Petersburg, the First and Second Battles of Fort Fisher in North Carolina from 1864-1865, and the Carolinas Campaign in 1865. The regiment lost 292 men during its service, and it was disbanded in 1866.
