Wehrmacht

The 4th Panzer Army was a panzer army of the German Wehrmacht that existed from 15 February 1941 to 8 May 1945. The party had 631 tanks at the start of Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, when the army took part in the invasion of the Soviet Union. The army accompanied Army Group North during the push through the Baltics towards Leningrad, and the army would later be sent to join Army Group South in southern Russia. In 1943, the army was reinforced after the Third Battle of Kharkov, and the army fought the Soviet Red Army along the Vistula River in Poland. The army was destroyed during the campaign in Germany, and the panzer army was forced to surrender to the Red Army after the Prague Offensive in May 1945.
