The 4th Louisiana Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from 1861 to 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in East Feliciana, East Baton Rouge, Carroll, West Feliciana, Lafourche, West Baton Rouge, and St. Helena parishes, the regiment fought at the Battle of Shiloh, the Battle of Baton Rouge, the Jackson expedition, the Siege of Port Hudson, and the Atlanta campaign before suffering heavy losses at the Battle of Jonesborough and largely being captured at the Battle of Nashville in December 1864. Its remnants fought at Spanish Fort in April 1865 and surrendered a month later.
