Red Army

The 4th Guards Tank Army was a Soviet army which was made up of the 11th and 30th Ural Volunteer Tank Corps and the 6th Guards Mechanized Corps. Vasily Badanov commanded the tank army from 15 July 1943 to March 1944, when D.D. Lelushenko took command of it. It was attached to the Steppe Front and took part in the Battle of Kursk, the Lwow-Sandomierz Offensive, the Silesian Offensives, the Battle of Berlin, and the Liberation of Prague. The army would remain a part of the Soviet occupation forces in Czechoslovakia and Germany after the war's end in 1945, and it became a mechanized army in 1946.
