The 3rd Ukrainian Front was a front of the Red Army during World War II, being formed on 20 October 1943 with Rodion Malinovsky as its leader. The front took part in the Dnieper offensives in southern Russia, and it also took part in the Dnieper-Carpathian Offensive from December 1943 to April 1944. In May 1944, Fyodor Tolbukhin took over the front, which took part in the drive into the Balkans, taking part in the Jassy-Kishinev Operation and the Belgrade Offensive. On 16 March 1945, the group took part in the Vienna Offensive in Austria, and the front was disbanded on 15 June 1945 after the end of the war.
