The 3rd North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from April 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Green, Duplin, Cumberland, Onslow, Bladen, New Hanover, and Beaufort counties, the regiment was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia from the Seven Days Battles to Appomattox, losing 40% of its strength at the Battle of Gettysburg.
