The 3rd Louisiana Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from 1861 to 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Iberville, Morehouse, Winn, Natchitoches, Caddo, Carroll, Caldwell, and East Baton Rouge parishes, the regiment fought in the West from the Battle of Wilson's Creek to the Corinth campaign and the Siege of Vicksburg, where it was captured. Suffering heavy losses to powerful land mines, the regiment would be paroled and sent to guard Shreveport for the rest of the war.
