The 30th Ohio Infantry Regiment was an Ohian regiment of the Union Army that was active from 28 August 1861 to 13 August 1865 during the American Civil War. Organized in Columbus, the regiment was assigned to guard West Virginia during the war, and it first fought at the Battle of Carnifex Ferry before fighting in the Maryland campaign, the Vicksburg campaign, the Siege of Chattanooga, the Atlanta Campaign, the March to the Sea, and the Carolinas campaign.
