The 30 January 2015 Shikarpur bombing was a terrorist attack carried out by the Jundallah affiliate of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and the Islamic State. It targeted a Shia Islam mosque in southern Pakistan's Sindh region, and 40 people were killed.
Bombing[]
The Jundallah militant group, affiliated with both the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) branch of the Taliban and the Islamic State, carried out a series of audacious attacks on the minority groups of Pakistan (including Christians and Shi'ite Muslims). On 30 January 2015, the Jundallah group claimed responsibility for the bombing of a Shi'ite mosque in Shikarpur, Sindh, in southern Pakistan. The bombing killed 40 civilians and wounded 50 people, and many people were trapped in the mosque after the roof caved in due to the explosion of the bombs. This was Jundallah's second-deadliest attack, after an attack on a church that left 70 Christians dead.
