
The 2nd South Carolina Infantry Regiment was a South Carolinian regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from 9 April 1861 to 26 April 1865 during the American Civil War. The regiment was raised in the Richland, Greenville, Columbia, Sumter, Camden, Anderson, Abbeville, Kershaw, Lancaster, and Charleston districts, and the regiment participated in the Battle of Fort Sumter before being attached to the Army of Northern Virginia from the First Battle of Bull Run to the Siege of Petersburg, with the exception of the Battle of Chickamauga and the Siege of Knoxville. The regiment went on to fight in the Valley Campaigns of 1864 and at the Battle of Bentonville, after which it surrendered.
