The 2nd North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from July 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in New Hanover, Wilson, Surry, Carteret, Duplin, Guilford, Sampson, Craven, Jones, and Pamlico counties, the regiment was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia from the Seven Days Battles to the Battle of Cold Harbor, served under Jubal Early in the Shenandoah Valley, and ended the war at Appomattox.
