The 2nd Louisiana Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from 1861 to 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Natchitoches, Rapides, Ouachita, DeSoto, Jackson, Claiborne, Carroll, Pointe Coupee, and Caddo parishes, the regiment fought in the East starting with the Battle of Yorktown. It suffered heavy losses at the Battle of Malvern Hill and later fought alongside the Army of Northern Virginia, in the Overland Campaign, in the Valley campaigns of 1864, and in the Appomattox campaign. Only a company-sized regiment surrendered at Appomattox Court House.
