The 25th North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from 15 August 1861 to 9 April 1865. The regiment was raised in the Western North Carolina counties of Henderson (two companies), Jackson (one company), Haywood (one company), Cherokee (one company), Transylvania (one company), Clay (one company), Macon (one company), and Buncombe (three companies), and the regiment arrived in Richmond, Virginia in May 1862 and was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia. The regiment first fought at the Battle of Malvern Hill, and later fought at the Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Siege of Petersburg, the Battle of the Crater, and the Battle of Five Forks before surrendering at Appomattox Court House.
