
The 24th Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment was a Confederate States Army regiment which was active from June 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. It was raised from the men of Floyd, Franklin, Carroll, Giles, Patrick, Pulaski, Mercer, Montgomery, and Henry Counties in Virginia, and it was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia during the war. Jubal Early was the regiment's first commander, and William R. Terry later assumed command of the regiment. It first fought at the First Battle of Bull Run in July 1861 and ended the war at Appomattox on 9 April 1865.
