The 23rd South Carolina Infantry Regiment was a South Carolina infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from 1861 to 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Horry, Georgetown, Charleston, and Colleton counties, the regiment fought in the East from the Second Battle of Bull Run to the Battle of Antietam before transferring to Mississippi and back north in 1864, ending the war at the Appomattox campaign.
