The 20th North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from July 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. The regiment was raised in Brunswick, Columbus, Cabarrus, Duplin, and Sampson counties, and Alfred Iverson, Jr. was the regiment's first colonel. The regiment was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia in July 1862, and it fought in the Peninsula Campaign, the Maryland campaign, the Battle of Chancellorsville, the Battle of Gettysburg, the Overland Campaign, and the surrender at Appomattox in April 1865.
