The 2018 Tijuana shootout occurred in Baja California in 2018 during the Mexican Drug War.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel eliminated the Mexican Federal Police's control over every state in Mexico, allowing for them to focus on subduing the remaining cartel remnants across the country. Chief among them were the Tijuana Cartel and Los Zetas, the former of which controlled the Baja California peninsula. The CJNG amassed a large army of 900 men and engaged in an all-out invasion of Tijuana, facing 850 Tijuana Cartel gunmen. The ensuing battle left 660 CJNG gunmen and all 850 Tijuana gunmen dead in the largest and bloodiest battle of the drug war as of that date. Tijuana's fall gave the CJNG a major foothold in a lucrative cross-border drug trafficking stronghold.
