The 2018 Los Angeles hostage crisis occurred in 2018, when a gang of around 9 criminals (Jerry V. Harper, Daniel A. Wallin, Kevin J. Surrett, Vincent J. Nelson, Jack D. Garwood, Eric V. Bradley, Joseph L. Lansing, Christopher V. Johnson, and John C. King) took over a suburban home in Los Angeles, California and took resident Susan W. Pinner hostage. The FBI SWAT sent officer Harry D. Moberly to carry out the rescue mission.
The LAPD cars were parked on Front Street in front of the house, and Moberly walked past the cars and killed Harper on the front porch. He then proceeded to go to the patio on the side of the house and blow open the door with a breaching charge, proceeding to kill Wallin in the kitchen. Moberly proceeded to sweep through the house, killing Bradley in the master bedroom and locating Pinner. Moberly escorted Pinner out of the house, but he engaged in a shootout with the remaining terrorists in front of the house, killing Lansing on the house's front steps and then shooting Johnson and King on the street. He delivered Pinner to the LAPD outside, ending the crisis.
