The 2018 Kansas City bombing was an Islamic State suicide bombing attack that killed 15 American civilians at a supermarket in Kansas City, Missouri.

All three bombers were of Yemeni origin, two of them being American citizens and another having been smuggled into the United States with the financial help of AQAP terrorist Qasim al-Raymi and aboard a Panamanian-flagged ship, La Victorina, which was owned by Sonora Cartel boss Carlos Reyes' holding company Grupo Duro. A fourth bomber, also smuggled into Mexico, blew himself up at the Rio Grande after a United States Border Patrol helicopter threatened to apprehend him and several other migrants. The three ISIS bombers met up in Kansas City, Missouri, where they entered a supermarket during a busy evening shopping hour. Two of the bombers blew themselves up in opposite sides of the store, while a third hesitated before detonating his explosives as a mother with a daughter tried to dissuade him from triggering his bomb. 15 American civilians were killed, resulting in the CIA initiating an operation to trigger infighting among the Mexican cartels and thus drive down border traffic.
