The 2018 Ciudad Cuauhtemoc shootout occurred in Chihuahua in 2018 during the Mexican Drug War. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel sent 330 gunmen from Coahuila to recapture Chihuahua from the Mexican Federal Police, which was garrisoned by 160 police. The CJNG engaged in a shootout with the police at Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, taking the state with 90 losses; they also seized $270,000.
