The 2017 Camargo shootout occurred in Chihuahua in 2017 during the Mexican Drug War. The Mexican Federal Police cracked down on the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in the state of Chihuahua, forcing the CJNG to recapture the state. 280 CJNG gunmen were trucked in from Coahuila to recapture Chihuahua, and they engaged in a shootout with 190 Federales at the city of Camargo. The shootout resulted in the deaths of 70 CJNG gunmen and all of the police, and the CJNG recaptured the state and seized $420,000.
