The 1st Ukrainian Front was a Soviet Red Army front (army group) which existed from 1943 to 1945 during World War II. From 1944 to 1945, the front was led by Nikolai Vatutin, Georgy Zhukov, and Ivan Konev during the battles in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia, ending the war during the Prague Offensive of May 1945. After the war, the front was transformed into occupation forces for Austria and Hungary.
