The 1st Cavalry Army was a cavalry army of the Soviet Red Army that was led by Semyon Budyonny during the Russian Civil War. The army drove Anton Denikin and the White Army back from their advance on Moscow during the civil war, and the army also fought in the Polish-Soviet War. The 1st Cavalry Army succeeded in pushing the Polish Army back from the Ukraine and Belarus, but it was destroyed at the Battle of Komarow on 30 August-2 September 1920.
