The 19th Indiana Infantry Regiment was a Union Army regiment from Indiana which was active from 29 July 1861 to 18 October 1864 during the American Civil War. The regiment was raised at Indianapolis on 29 July 1861, and it was attached to the Army of the Potomac and saw severe fighting during the 1862 Northern Virginia campaign, Seven Days Battles, Battle of Antietam (during which it suffered heavy losses in the Cornfield), the Battle of Gettysburg, the Overland Campaign, and the Siege of Petersburg before merging into the 20th Indiana Infantry Regiment in October 1864. Solomon Meredith served as the unit's colonel.
