The remains of the IRA car used in the attack

The 1994 Heathrow mortar attacks occurred on 9, 11, and 13 March 1994 when the Provisional IRA used homemade mortars to target Heathrow International Airport in London, England on three occasions within five days. Heathrow was important to the economy of the United Kingdom, leading to it being targeted by the IRA. Nobody was killed or injured in the mortar barrages, but areas of the airport were closed and travel disrupted.
