The 1993 World Trade Center bombing occurred on 26 February 1993 when al-Qaeda terrorists set off a truck bomb in a parking garage below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, New York, United States, killing 6 people and killing 1,042 people. The attack was planned by Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammed A. Salameh, Abdul Rahman Yasin, and Ahmed Ajaj, having received funding from Yousef's uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. The bombing was motivated by American foreign policy, including the USA's support for Israel.
