1985 Newry mortar attack

The 1985 Newry mortar attack occurred at 6:32 PM on 28 February 1985 when the Provisional IRA used homemade mortars to attack a Royal Ulster Constabulary base at Corry Square in Newry, Northern Ireland during The Troubles. 9 people were killed and 37 injured in the attack, with 25 civilian employees being among the wounded. The attack led to building designs for police stations being revamped to give them more protection.
