The 1951 Argentine railway strike occurred in January 1951, when Argentina's CGT labor union confederation called for a three-month railway workers' strike to protest against stagflation. The strike actually began on 22 December 1950, but it was settled, later being renewed on a greater scale in January 1951. Eva Peron failed to resolve the differences, and she turned a blind eye as President Juan Peron dispatched the military to suppress the strikes. He also had numerous Socialist Party of Argentina leaders arrested for their alleged roles in the strike.
