The 1925 Piedmont labor unrest was a surge of socialist agitation that occurred in the Piedmont region of northern Italy during the first half of 1925. The labor unrest was prompted by the formation of a labor union at a local workshop, and the workshop set a local example to other places, causing for laborers to organize at every mill, workshop, and factory in the region. The local elite persuaded the government of Fascist Italy to send in Royal Italian Army troops and the paramilitary Blackshirts to maintain order, quelling the unrest among the laborers.
