
The 18th Mississippi Infantry Regiment was a Confederate States Army infantry regiment from Mississippi which was active from June 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. It was raised in Yazoo, Coahoma, Madison, De Soto, and Hinds Counties and first fought at the First Battle of Bull Run and later at the Seven Days Battles, Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Battle of Chancellorsville, the Battle of Gettysburg, the Battle of Chickamauga, the Battle of Knoxville, the Battle of Cold Harbor, and the Overland Campaign, and the regiment surrender at Appomattox with just 4 officers and 44 enlisted men remaining.
