Flag of Germany

The 17th Reserve Jaeger Battalion was a battalion of the Imperial German Army that was deployed to France during World War I. The battalion was activated in 1918 as the German Empire sent more reserve troops to the front lines, and the battalion took part in the heavy fighting at Artois, Champagne, and Douaumont during the summer and autumn of 1918. The battalion succeeded in holding back some Allied advances, but it would suffer heavy losses.
