The 17th North Carolina Infantry Regiment was a North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army which was active from June 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Pasquotank, Edgecombe, Hertford, Bertie, Currituck, and Beaufort counties, the 17th was captured at Hatteras Island and Roanoke in 1862, but the regiment was exchanged and served in Virginia during the Bermuda Hundred campaign and the Siege of Petersburg. The regiment surrendered with the Army of Tennessee in April 1865.
