The 15th Panzer Division was a tank formation of the German Wehrmacht that existed from September 1940 to May 1943. The division was deployed to North Africa as a part of Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps, and it would fight against the Allies in Libya and Tunisia. The division suffered severe losses at the Second Battle of El Alamein, and the divisional commander Willibald Borowietz was forced to surrender to the Allies at Cap Bon in May 1943.
