The 15 November 2023 Houthi drone shootdown occurred on 15 November 2023 when the US Navy destroyer USS Thomas Hudner shot down a Houthi drone as it headed over the Red Sea in preparation for an attack on Israel.
On 14 November, Israel shot down a Yemeni drone bound for Eilat. That same day, Houthi spokesman General Yahya Sarea claimed responsibility for the ballistic missile attack on Eilat, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi also threatened to target Israeli ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. On 15 November, the Houthis launched another drone at Israel, but the American warship USS Thomas Hudner intercepted and shot down a Houthi drone headed toward it over the Red Sea.
