
The 147th New York Infantry Regiment, nicknamed the Oswego Regiment, was a Union Army infantry regiment which was active from 22 September 1862 to 7 June 1865 during the American Civil War. The regiment was raised in Oswego County, and it was attached to the Army of the Potomac and first fought at the Battle of Chancellorsville, ending the war at Appomattox. 2,102 soldiers served in the 147th New York throughout the war, and 5 officers and 107 enlisted men died during the war.
