The 12th Mississippi Infantry Regiment was a Mississippian infantry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from May 1861 to April 1865 during the American Civil War. Raised in Hinds, Adams, Lawrence, Copiah, Warren, Panola, Claiborne, Yazoo, Jefferson, Holmes, and Calhoun counties, the regiment was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia from the Peninsula Campaign to the Appomattox campaign, suffering heavy losses during the Battle of Gaines' Mill.
